A CASOMB Certified Program for Treatment of Sexual Acting Out

Shaping Success is a program for mandated and non-mandated sexual offenders and individuals with acting out behaviors. In the state of California, individuals that have been convicted of a sexual offense are mandated to a minimum of one year of treatment. In addition, some individuals struggle with making appropriate decisions related to sexual behaviors and could benefit from learning about boundaries and healthy sex through the Shaping Success program.

Shaping Success offers evaluations and treatment. We serve female and male adults and adolescents, as well as individuals with developmental delays.

We offer assessments of risk and physiological arousal. The evaluation can be ordered with or without a referral for treatment.

The treatment program has been developed as a minimum of one year. It begins with an intake, which includes an evaluation of risk. The individual will complete structured modules aimed at identifying and addressing the level of denial and cognitive distortions, their offending cycle, and victim empathy. In addition the individual will learn about healthy and appropriate sexual relationships and behaviors. Treatment includes group, individual, couples, and family sessions. It includes developing treatment plans and providing monthly treatment updates to the referring program.

Sex Offender Treatment is managed by CASOMB, a board that requires all sex offender treatment providers and programs to be evaluated and certified. As such, Shaping Success and all of its treatment providers have been certified by the California Sex Offender Management Board and follow the Containment Model.
